About SPD Research Tool (Spreadtrum / Unisoc Flash Tool)

SPD Research Tool, also commonly known as ResearchDownload Tool, is the official flashing software created for devices powered by Spreadtrum / Unisoc chipsets. It allows technicians and users to flash official stock ROMs packaged in .PAC format, recover bricked devices, and upgrade or repair firmware efficiently.

Basic Usage Guide

1. Install the latest Spreadtrum / Unisoc USB Drivers on your Windows PC.
2. Download and extract the SPD Research Tool package to a clean directory.
3. Run ResearchDownload.exe or SPD_Research_Tool.exe as Administrator.
4. Click the single gear icon (Load Packet) at the top-left corner and browse to your firmware .PAC file.
5. Wait for the tool to verify and unpack the PAC file, then click the Start Downloading (Play) button.
6. Power off the target phone completely. Press and hold the boot key (usually Volume Down, Volume Up, or Center Key on feature phones) and connect the USB cable to the PC.
7. The tool will detect the device on the corresponding COM port and begin flashing. When a green Passed status appears, the process is complete. Disconnect the device and power it on.

Important Notes

• Ensure the device has at least 50% battery before initiating the flash process.
• Flashing stock firmware may erase all user data; ensure critical files are backed up beforehand.
• Use a stable USB cable connected directly to the primary motherboard USB port to avoid connection dropouts.
